Insert section so all items move down

Known Info 2 years ago

Hi - new to the app and can't find how to insert a section / element so all the items below it move down the page in the same way as adding a section in most page builders? Any help would be most apprecaited

Hello, could you give me an example of what you want to build? a dropdown menu?

Here is an example that may be useful to you.

Thanks Ria - all I am trying to do is add a new blank section which will create new space on the page by shifting all content down - imagine being able to add a new panel that will create its own space rather than going over the existing content as a layer.

I have found a workaround which is to simply select all the layers below the area where I want to create new space and then pull them all down the page. It works but I wondered if there was a more elegant solution that I'm missing?

Hello, maybe you can use an event, I am attaching a capture of the event that would allow you to move another element down.

This event could be used so that when you select an element, a blank space is created between one element and another and also create more events to interact in that space.

I hope it works for you.

Thanks Ria - what I mean is being able to insert a new section on the page (I think you call them panels?) to add new content. Currently, if I have a page full of content and I want to insert a full-width image right in the middle of the page, I need to select all the layers below where I want to the image to go and drag them down the page to make some empty space for the image to be inserted.

It would be nice if I could just drag a section element onto the page which would then create it's own space. I don't see any element like that in the app currently.

Does that make sense what I'm talking about?

Hello, I am attaching an example where you can see the properties of the dynamic panel, I think the vertical layout option in the right panel will be useful for your prototype, I am also attaching a link where you can find more information on the properties of the dynamic panel.

Hi Ria - thanks again but this still isn't what I mean. Please see the short screengrab below which I hope explains better.

Hello, from what I have seen in the video you sent, the first example I sent you is what you need, this action can be performed with the layout events within the panels, I leave you with a tutorial. I hope it works for you.

Greetings.
