Just create an event with the outcome of link. You should then see an option to link to an external page as opposed to just a page within the prototype.

Hi Stephen,

The Justinmind answer from Danielle above doesn't solve it, because the only option for an external link is to have it appear in a "pop-up" window that is a set-size.
What I want it the basic functionality that allows new window to appear in a new browser tab or window...at whatever size the end-user's browser window is set to.
I'm feeling a little embarrassed because my tech-savvy client is asking me why I can create such a sophisticated prototype but cannot do something as simple as link to an external page in a new tab or window.
VERY frustrating and disappointing!

Thank you, Klaus. I have a similar issue in that my prototype has links to external pages that I need to open in a new tab or window, and the "pop-up" is not a viable solution, as you've pointed out.
I also agree it's frustrating and disappointing. "New" features, and updates to the UI's look-and-feel, don't always do much to keep existing customers from defecting.

Thank you, but I'm trying to find out how to have the link open in a new tab or window. Is there any facility to use target=blank, for example?

1. Right-click the object and select "Add Event"
2. Under the "Select the target for your link" choose "URL"
3. Enter / paste the URL in the text input box
4. Choose the "Yes" option for "Open in a new tab"
