Google font properties lost when changing a label's text

Solved Victor Conesa 9 years ago

I'm working with JIM 6.9.1 on a WIN10 machine and I'm experiencing serious issues when using Google Fonts (Open Sans, Source Sans Pro for example) on labels. Every time I change the label's text, the font gets somehow lost and I need to copy the style of a similar label back to it to restore font properties (font name, weight). Those fonts where installed by using JIM and are not present in my Windows Fonts directory... Any idea why this happens?

Hi Tom,

Sorry for our late response. Have updated to version 7.0? Does this happens with our last release?

Kindly let me know how it goes.

Hello Sonia,

Thanks for replying. Yes, I'm always updating to the latest version. Attached you can see what happens: I copy a label that has font Open Sans - Bold - 12pt. Then I double click on the text of the Text element and change the text. The layout is then partially gone ("bold" is gone, sometimes the font to = resets to Arial). Typically I see then in the Properties panel that the thickness dropdown is greyed out (see red circle in screenshot).

If I edit the text of such an element directly in the Properties panel ("value") instead of double clicking it, this issue is not present and formatting is kept.

Regards,

Tom

I am experiencing the same issue. Need a solution. Any edition done by double clicking the label results in resetting the properties of the label to Arial.

I have a Windows 8 laptop here and Prototyper 7.0.0

Hi all,

This is a bug we're working on fixing and should be fixed in the next release, which is coming very soon!

As a workaround, edit the text from the properties panel if possible, as Tom described above.

Thanks Danielle.

The workaround is good enough for simple labels, but if you have a paragraph with different format in the text (bold title + some italics words + some different colours), then it is not enough to edit the text from the properties panel. In this case the workaround involves applying again all the format to the paragraph elements, which is a big waste of time.

I look forward to the next release !
