"Match Height" affects UN-SELECTED components.

Solved Dave 9 years ago

With EXACTLY two components selected, "Match Height" resized and moved EVERYTHING in the parent group. Oh, and you can't undo it, either. Thanks.

Don't mind me, I'll just be re-building the group from scratch because EVERYTHING MOVED AND I CANNOT UNDO THE DAMAGE.

Yes, I'm shouting. This is costing me money.

Hi Dave,

Unfortunately we haven't been able to reproduce this issue. It seems it doesn't happen with all kind of components. Please let us know the steps you are following and the elements you are using and we'll try to reproduce it again and see what may be happening.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Here's how I reproduced it:

Selected "Col_4-Participant-Single-Channel-Icon"

(this takes 3 clicks, as I drill down to the specific component, as you can see in the outline).

The selected componement is a "Twitter Square" from Fontawesome.

Shift-selected "Col_3-Author-Platform_URL".

The selected componement is a single-line text.

Selected "Match Heights"

As you can see, the avatar icon (the bird on the yellow splash) is resized along with the parent group, although neither of them is (at least explicitly) selected.

Out of interest, the avatar is an Image and the group is a group :-).

The sequence is shown in this screen recording embedded from recordit.co:

Some salient details that may not be discernible from the video:

The height of the Twitter Square before "Match height" is 19px, and "Autofit Text" is set.

After "Match height", it is unchanged: 19px.

The height of the single-line text before "Match height" is 25px, and "Autofit Text" is NOT set.

After "Match height", it is 20px (which you will notice is not 19px: not sure which height is being "matched.")

The height of the (unselected) avatar before is 40px.

After "Match height", it is 21px (again, "matching" nothing)

The height of the "Col_3-Author-Detail-Highlights" group (which directly contains the avatar, and contains an inner group, "Col_3-Author-Platform_ID", that contains the Twitter Square and single-line text) before is 48px

After "Match height", it is 43px.

After using "Undo":

The Twitter Square remains steadfastly 19px

The single-line text only gets back to 23px

The avatar only gets back to 37px

The outer group ("Col_3-Author_Detail-Highlights") only gets back to 46px
