Material design elevation and shadows
Hey,
are there any guidelines how to create shadows for simulating relative elevation according to material design? I cant seem to get it right. They either do not look natural or not in the right "elevation".
Thanks.

Hi Michal,
While we don't have any specific tutorials for that, you can achieve that desired effect by altering the 'distance' and 'spread' options in the shadow properties.

Danielle

Thanks Danielle,
I found this guide for Adobe Illustrator somewhere (attached file) but can't seem to translate it correctly into JIM shadow settings (just doesn't look the same). Even when using 2 shadows (2 elements stacked on each other). Might help someone else as a reference point though.

Hi Michal,
Thanks for attaching that reference. I'll forward your ideas to our development team and will let you know if they're implemented.

Hey,
Is there any update with the elevator shadows?
And what is the value of 1 Dp in Distance, spread,Blur and engle parameters, as it look in material shadow design.
Thank you,
Daniel
