More keyboard shortcuts please

Completed seb lt 9 years ago

I find myself spending a large amount of time and effort moving my mouse back and forth between the widget panel and the main content area. Especially with things like Hotspots. It would be *awesome* if I could just press a key (e.g. "h" for adding hotspots) to select certain commonly used widgets.

Hello Seb,

Cool suggestion! I'll be sure to pass this along to our team. If there are other shortcuts you'd like to see implemented, I'd be happy to create a specific improvement list.

Best,

Luisa

@Luisa I second the notion - especially regarding adding hotspots!!! Are you guys going to add it soon I hope?

Also having a custom hotkey-mapping would be just wonderful.

Sure! How about:

- Activating color pickers (requires a selection):

Maybe Ctrl+1 for fill, Ctrl+2 for outline, and Ctrl+3 for text color

- Ctrl+0 for 100% zoom

- Shift+Ctrl+0 for zoom to fit selected object(s) (with some room around it)

- Redo last command Ctrl+Y

If I think of more I'll post them here!

Your product is great, although we definitely need more shortcuts. As a power Axure user looking to convert over, it would really improve the usability of the product to have more shortcuts.

Additional keyboard shortcuts that would be helpful.

Align fields: left, center, right, top middle, bottom

Add Link

Add Event

Text Align Left, center, right

Also often used... The Rectangle, Maybe implement R for retangle and O for Ellipse like in Sketch? :)

And the Appless trackpack should be possible zo use for zooming :)

Yes more shortcuts are needed. Power users, that is the champions of your product, need keyboard shortcuts. A useful one from Balsamiq I would add is - <enter> for starting to edit text in a widget that supports text.

Yep - keyboard shortcuts - (or ideally just a custom keyboard shortcuts to any tool and menu options are essential. Not having them is pretty much a deal killer for me (I'm trying it out right now, month to month)

So this is marked as completed. There is still a lot to ask for as far as keyboard shortcuts go. Most annoying for me is that the zoom and select tool doesn't have a shortcut - its usually Z and V in most design software.

Alternatively, you could just add a few more items to the menu in MacOS and then we can add our own shortcuts to everything. Any item that appears in the menu, can have a custom shortcut on the mac. Unfortunately, not many of the interface items are also in the menu.

Hi everyone, would also be great to have a shortcut like ALT+"mouse click hold" that allows you to freely select multiple items without having to search for a free spot on your proto. ATM if you want to drag and select multiple items most of the time it's just gonna select the one you clicked on at the moment you wanted to drag and select.

Have you tried shift-clicking to select multiple elements?
