possible to have screens transition but not bars?

Answered Victor Conesa 9 years ago

Is it possible to have a screen to screen transition (e.g. slide, fade etc) but have header and footer bars (status, title, nav bar etc) not transition?

Currently my bars are set up as part of the screens (actually I have them as part of a template), so naturally when the screen links to another and transitions that includes the bars, but that is not natural to how most iOS apps work. It seems like the bars should somehow be global layers but I do not know if there is a way to set this up.

Hi,

In this case, a good option would be to create a dynamic panel, so only the panel content changes but you are still in the same page.

Would that work for you?

Hi Lidia -

This makes sense and seems to be working. I have found the video that describes how Dynamic Panels can be used to build tabs.

Fortunately I have a relatively small prototype - about 10 screens. Each has its own associated hot spots, scrolling areas, events etc.

So I will have essentially one main screen with a Dynamic Panel and create my 10 screens as sub panels. My question is - is it practical to build an entire app this way? What about prototypes that have lots of screens?

Thanks, Eugene
