Screen headers not showing in Simulation

Answered Josh2876 8 years ago

Hi. Do you have any idea why my Master screen header & indeed any other groups of objects I place in the header of my screens, are not displaying during Simulation?

Hi there,

Perhaps the master or template has not been applied to that screen. It may have been marked as hidden as well. Can you confirm whether or not that's true in your case?

Hi Danielle. I can confirm that nothing in that top bar group of objects (arrows, magnifying glass) is hidden. All of them have the "eye" showing in the outline panel. The Carrier, Time & Battery icons however are not clickable in the proto as they are part of the Template

How specifically to i 'apply' a master or template to a screen. I thought if i could see it on the screen whilst prototyping it would also be visible in the simulation?

Hi there,

You can add masters by

1) Making sure the masters tab is selected

2) Making sure you're on the screen you want to add the master to

3) Click the master you have created in the masters tab and drag it into the canvas.

You can add templates by selecting the base page (icon that looks like a monitor) in the outline. Then look to the properties panel and you should see 'Template' where you can select the correct template to apply to that page.

However, if it's visible on the page, it should be working during simulation as well. Check to see if you have implemented the master/template correctly and let me know if you're still not seeing the header.

Hi Danielle,

I deleted the existing Master and re-dragged it onto the screen again. It is still not visible in the Simulation.

"Template 1" is definitely selected as the active Template - this is the standard Template that was loaded into the iPhone 6 JIM project template (i didn’t make any editions where the Template is concerned)

Even if I create a brand new screen (displaying the Template; Signal level, Provider name, Bluetooth icon, Battery icon), these Template icons are not visible in the Simulation (as you can see in the above screenshots)

Please let me know best way to troubleshoot the issue

Hi there,

In that case - can you attach a link to the prototype .vp file here via dropbox or another file sharing service so I can investigate this?

Best,

Danielle
