Transparent Background question

Answered James F. 8 years ago

How can I make a background image transparent without making other images and text added on top of the background also transparent?

Perhaps there is a real simple solution here, but I can't seem to figure it out.

Thanks!

Hi James,

To do this, select the background image in the outline panel and drag it (or press the down arrow button) to the bottom of the outline. That way, other images will appear on top of the background image.

Were you able to figure this out? I can't get it to work.

Can you describe in more detail what you're looking to do? We can use that to create an example for you.

Sure thing. I have two panels in a dynamic panel. One panel spans the entire home screen, the 2nd panel I would like the background to be transparent and have like 80% so I can still see the first panel and look like a popup window. Right now, if I set the transparency of the panel to 80% it makes all the contents in the panel 80% transparent.

You can put a rectangle into the dynamic panel and make that transparent instead. You can then put other elements above that rectangle in the outline panel, so they won't be transparent.

Okay I'll try that.
