PS: It's probably just as well. With the way JustinMind has been behaving lately, it would probably align every component in the entire prototype, and it would not be undo-able, so maybe I'm better off without it.

In case the components are located into different containers it is deactivated by default to avoid other problems. Could you please specify us where are your components located?

Unfortunately, it happens for items that are in the same container. In fact, even if they're immediately adjacent in the outline. See the selected items in the outline, where the mouse pointer is hovering:

You will need to check out if any layout has been selected because only the the "free layout" will allow you to use the align options. (See screenshot)
Kindly let me know how it goes.

Seems like if I grouped elements, then i can align virtually nothing. Very unintuitive behaviour, specially for a design application please how can i fix it?

I find that Adobe Illustrator behaviour is much more intuitive. When you are in a group then you can just go inside a group and select the elements there to align them but if you are outside of the group then it takes the grouped elements as a whole and you can't align them however if you select two elements from two different groups then they also align. It is quite frustrating not to be able to have this functionality in Justinmind as well.
